Warding Off Demons

"I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion." - Henry David Thoreau

This painting of a gourd standing guard is from my recent trip to Salem, MA. It is  7" x 5" oil on canvas panel. Please call me, email me, or click here if you'd like to buy this painting.

What sort of demons could this lonely pumpkin keep from entering this beautiful door? Cats in devil costumes looking for treats on Halloween, of course!

Trick or treat!

Escape

"Divine Nature gave the fields, human art built the cities."  - Marcus Terentius Varro

Don't forget that if you are in the area of southern Delaware on Saturday, November 5th I'll be at the Rehoboth Art League's Holiday Fair. "Why would I be in the area?" you ask. One good reason is because the World Championship Punkin Chunkin is happening nearby at the same time. Art, crafts, giant cannon loaded with pumpkins, mythbusters... All of this awesomeness happening in such a small state begs the question, how could you NOT escape for a weekend and be here?

Mushu

"A dog can express more with his tail in minutes than his owner can express with his tongue in hours." - Anonymous

I painted this for a friend as a wedding gift. Don't worry, they've already seen it so it's not a surprise. The chihuahua in the painting, Mushu, is so tiny that he might weigh less than this painting once it is framed.

This painting is 7" x 5" oil on canvas panel.
